Your source for visitor information.  Open 9 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. daily, the Frederick Visitor Center is located in a beautifully renovated circa-1899 industrial warehouse that boasts 2,200-square feet of interpretive exhibits. Visitors can take in the award-winning multi-screen orientation film and get maps and brochures on regional sites and attractions.

Most of the county’s hotels are located in Frederick, Maryland, which is approximately 16 miles (26 km) from Thurmont, Maryland. Within a week of announcing that the G8 will be held at Camp David, over half of the hotels in Frederick County reported full occupancy during the G8 Summit dates.
